Yeah, we know that reruns aren’t exactly fun and exciting. But reruns are like a déjà vu without that weird nauseating sensation in your stomach, but with twice the mind rotting capacity. And we like that part.
Saturday night at 10pm Eastern & Pacific - 9pm Central & Mountain on RTV – It’s back to the start of season 1 with everyone’s favorite radioactive mutant turtle! From 1966, it’s "Gammera The Invincible."
A giant turtle with a severe underbite is awakened by a skirmish between Soviet and American bombers, and then takes out his frustration on Japan. How will the pitiful humans stop the rampaging reptile?
Saturday night at Midnight on Ft. Myers' My TV 8 – From 1961, it's the sci-fi stinker, "Phantom Planet." It's your typical man-meets-aliens fare, with desperate attempts at realism, cheeseball special effects (come to think of it, the asteroids kinda look like cheeseballs) and sub plots galore.
It stars Dean Fredericks, who appeared in dozens of films and TV shows in the 50s and 60s. But stealing the show with her raven hair and scorching hot bod is Dolores Faith as Zetha. There's also the added bonus that she’s mute through most of the film.
Saturday evening at 8pm on EISE-TV, My TV Ft. Wayne – Tune in for the 1967 Rankin/Bass masterpiece "King Kong Escapes." When a giant robot Kong can't dig up enough radioactive Element X, the evil Dr. Who (No relation to the famous Timelord) decides to kidnap the real thing! However King Kong's current gal pal and her commanding officers have something to say about that.
June is just around the corner and that can only mean it's almost time for another "Attack of The Killer B’s" at the Main Art Theater in Royal Oak!
This month we're getting buff and oiling up our beefy bods with Alan Steel in "Hercules Against The Moon Men." Hercules comes to the city of Samar to oppose the evil Queen Samara, who has allied herself with moon aliens! She's so rotten, she even sacrifices her own people to help the moon men awaken their goddess.
Thursday, June 3rd at 7pm at the Main Art Theater in Royal Oak. $9 Adults, $7 Students, $5 Kids | Main Art Theater - 118 Main Street, Royal Oak (248) 263-2111.
